Tommaso: As much as we rant about the problems in the PC industry, for anybody who needs one now, the bargains are simply incredible. I'm old enough to remember when the hand-held calculator was "an incredible machine" at $149.95 The PC I'm using at the moment (a clone) cost more than double current prices and it was a fabulous bargain to my mind 18 months ago.
