Tulvio, OFF TOPIC

Thanks for the post. My dad worked at Autonetics (did I spell that right) in Anahiem in mid '60s. Eventually he ended up at General Dynamics and was involved in the development of Hybrid Micro Circuits in 1978. They were doing absolutely amazing things with shrinking down the size of electronic packages and we are seeing the results of efforts like yours and my dad's in today's products.

As you know the cold war gave the defense companies unlimited budgets and I must say working in defense was exciting.
Did you work on Apollo?

I showed my dad a USR Megahertz PC card that was packed with surface mount components on both sides of the board and he got pretty excited that the commercial sector was doing the very things that the defense/aerospace industries invented. He laughed and reminded me about those Ceramic Hybrid Micro Circuits that were being designed for missile systems two decades ago.

We owe it all to aerospace because that is where Surface Mount technology was developed. Funny thing-- Today some companies are designing with Multi Chip Modules and I know young engineers who think this is "new". I have amazed some of these people by showing them a Hybrid Micro Circuit that was built in 1979 and they quickly realize where Multi Chip Modules come from.

Sorry for rambling, but ya kind of brought back some memories.

Derek
