This is from a gaming report issued yesterday:

Earlier in the day, the commission heard from Eugene Christensen, a New York economist, on the industry's financial statistics from 1997.
Christensen said gaming produced $50.9 billion in revenue two years ago.
But he noted the unmet demand for gaming is over.
"The public appetite has been satiated," he said.
The only growth available may be in Internet gaming, Christensen said. He estimated gamblers spent $300 million on the Internet in 1997, an amount that should rise to $2.3 billion by the year 2001.
