Bob- I agree that float can be very important. However- Richard has done a great deal of research on float turnover. That seems to be more important. If a stock has low float and low volume- it can still languish for a long period. However high turnover of float ( turnover in 50 days or less- Richard would say 30 days or less) creates the volatility you need for trading. Check it out.
