A surprising tidbit: I received a fund raising letter from Community Blood Services in Paramus, NJ today. It read: Special $25 Fundraiser for Valentine's Day. Your donation will be applied towards the cost of collecting and processing Umbilical Cord Blood which wil be frozen and stored until needed (as a safer, easier to match, less expensive alternative to bone marrow transplants) by a child who is undergoing treatment for cancer.<<
