I don't see the analog modems being upgradeable to xDSL, using the C6X or otherwise. Just how is that high data rate going to get into your PC? Certainly not through the serial port! It will reqire a network interface, probably ethernet. Come to think of it, a 1 MB ethernet interface would not even be fast enough. Paul?

Further, the xDSL modem worth owning will need to be a multiplexor to allow simultaneous voice/data/video/fax. (Sorry Marshall, no shameless plugs here - I'm still short. However, you can bet "they" are not alone in developing the technology.)

We're talking major hardware differences, and it won't be cost effective to try and upgrade an existing modem.
