Right, Neocon. So which of the many ever-regurgitated scandals that Starr couldn't come up with any evidence on will be the next to resurface? Is Starr going to come up with some novel prosecutorial technique to force Juanita Broaddick to confess to filing a false affidavit? Will the inquisition force Julie Steele to come around to supporting the one true version of the Kathleen Willey story? I'm sure it wouldn't be that hard to get Linda Tripp to restate her version to Starr's tastes. Will somebody belatedly come forward and claim that yes, somebody from the WH tried to blackmail them with the dreaded FBI files? What else is on tap? Wolf has been cried many times, and all we got from Starr the new Eliot Ness is BJgate.

I don't think conservatives are crazy or evil. But the "Clinton, antichrist, Capone, Caligula, Septimius Severus" line has been beaten to death over the last 6 years. I've always been derided for saying it's just politics, but nobody seems to see any irony in going for the "political standards" versus normal judicial standards of proof on the high crimes and misdemeanors matter. All part of some curiously one sided political reading of "the rule of law", I guess. If you want to keep telling us 2/3 types how stupid we are right on up to the next election, that's your choice.

As to the premise of my posts, back to that in a minute.
