Gary, Actually, I talked to my contacts at Dell and they had a nice spin on it. They admit losing share big time in units, partially due to channel stuffing par excellence by Compaq, and CPQ copying Dell's receivables scam, but not in dollars, where they may have been up a little. The deal is, Compaq dominates the low end while Dell is mired at the sluggish high end. That has helped Dell in the past, but last quarter it was deadly. As it will be in the future. Especially for a stock with a pe ratio close to triple digits. In fact, in triple digits, if you are just looking at trailing 12 months.
