Advanced Fibre Communications Successfully Deploys First UMC
1000 Access System With Bahamas Telecommunications
PETALUMA, Calif., Feb. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Advanced Fibre Communications(R), Inc. (AFC) (Nasdaq:
AFCI) announced today deployment of several UMC 1000(R) access systems to Bahamas
Telecommunications (BaTelCo), one of the Caribbean's most sophisticated service providers. This
deployment initiates AFC's presence in the Bahamas and favorably positions the UMC 1000 for future
applications throughout the Caribbean.
In a competitive telecommunications access market, BaTelCo selected AFC's UMC 1000 digital loop
carrier for its ability to maximize their fiber transport infrastructure and deliver cost-effective data services
to their growing customer base.
