I've just started becoming genuinely concerned since the 1996 elections, when a bunch of Republicans, backed by religious rightwing, fundamentalists, got into office. I really believe that these religious radicals got elected into office, with financial backing, to attack Clinton and the Democratic Party, and not to do anything of value for the people. We need to get these radical Republicans out of office in 2000, without removing some of the more effective Republican Congressmen. It's going to be tough because all Republicans have been painted with the brush of Republican extremism.
