The fact is our generation's (I am a little older than you)ideas of life passages are being challenged. You, like the representatives of generations before you, feel an identity threat. The fact is most people don't have a problem with their daughter marrying in her twenties. It bothers the unmarried woman (you) of her late thirties and forties the same way it bothers the senior in high school when she sees the boys asking the sophomore girls to the prom.
