Well, I am going to order it myself and check it. The SoftRAM product being in beta for six months is concerning because it's indicative of very poorly written or poorly designed software. That's just too long and there are well defined methods for in-house testing that give you a pretty comfortable reading on whether or not a product is ready for beta or not. Beta does not mean sending out the first copy that seems to work, it has to be tested thoroughly before going to beta.

This is relevant to Windrenalin because we could see similar delay in releasing that product (read: no revenues). As for the bugs you have encountered, that concerns me, too. Just a guess, but it's likely due to the manipulation of time slice given to each program. That's how a multitasking system works, you let each program run for a small slice of time and then switch to the next one. The smaller the slice the smoother things appear to work, within limits; with large slices you get that jumpiness and hesitation that you are talking about. That's purely a guess but a reasonable one given they as much as claim that time slices are increased to allow the active application to run much faster -- at the expense of the background programs. So, I don't have the feeling this has anything to do with caching although it could.
