Actually, in DOD, Sun Micro has been the major workstations provider.
The entire Army network was connected with Sun's, which I used to
work for network performance for Army's Command and Control Systems
using BONeS (Blocks Oriented Network Simulation) COTS product.
Army has acquired more than 1 billion worth of Sun since last year,
Same as in Joints Chief of Staff.

The DOD's annual budget is more than 250+ billions, which represents
the largest pie in the information technology field.

Based on Apple's excellent relationship with Sun and Apple's new
Object Oriented OS, Apple will have excellent opportunity to gain
more share in DOD's IT field.
