Part of AOL's maturity is that people expect it to do well. Today we see companies going through the growing pains AOL went through a couple of years ago: AT&T's internet busy signals, ETrade crashing, etc. And adding a million customers at a time does not bring the attention it used to. There is only one thing still needed: AOL's stock volatility still has to catch up with its maturity, because in many ways it behaves like the internuts as far as downside. However, this is already improving, and AOL weathered the latest shakeout (assuming it is nearly over) as well as any internet stock.
