Paul, now why would you need an i960 in a PC?

I would guess for Rambus, PCI and 100Mbit ethernet, oh yeah "Proshare" video and that new video standard they're working on. It sounds like Intel has a plan to own 75+% of the chips on the board.

Starting to sound like a real workstation, with a real MMU and I/O manager. Cool, looking forward to one of these "killer" boxes.

PS: I use 32 i860's in parallel in a quad Sun sparc to crunch RADAR signals into pictures. To bad they didn't continue the i860 line, now we have to go shopping for something better, like Alpha's or PowerPC's.
