Well, you have something there. Most people do believe the case does center around sex. They are quietly shaking their heads in disbelief when ever they hear a Republican state "sex has nothing to do with it".

History will record this whole affair as a Congress that impeached a president over a "blow job". The perjury aspect will fade to the background. The house managers have consistently tried to bullshit America into believing you can lie with out having a subject to lie about. Most Americans are more disgusted with the Republican bullshit than they are with Clintons.

If the case had of centered around something illegal like a burglary then things may have been different as long as they could come up with more evidence than was presented. What happened to filegate or whitewater anyway?

Americans morals are much more liberal than the conservatives would like us all to believe. Most people have friends that have fooled around. Their friends may have even gone to great lengths to lie about it. In every other aspect these friends of ours may have maintained their ethics in every other way. The Religious Right just doesn't get it. I suspect that people who are really outraged at Clinton hang around people who go to church every Sunday and make literal interpretations of the Bible. Sure the older generation is going to be outraged. In the 50's they were outraged over Elvis. In the 20's they were outraged that women wanted to vote. Times change.

The Republicans had a chance to go for censure months ago. Now it looks like it is going to be a complete acquittal without censure. How can they censure after they acquit?

Meanwhile there are reports that the Justice Department has some new evidence that Ken Starr may have lied to Janet Reno about contacting the Jones lawyers. I don't know all the facts and it isn't a very good source but if true it means he lied to Congress. (Drudge Report this morning)

The irony of it all.
