This article sums up many of my concerns with these type of financings in addition to sheding new light on some grey areas.

I just received my recent issue of Nature Biotechnology. In the packet is a supplement called Bioentrepreneurship. I suggest anyone who is interested in the financing side ( if you invest in biotech you should be ) of Biotech somehow get ahold of a copy ( Volume 17 Feb 1999 ) and the "supplement".
