Kevin..I'm in Calgary and I've spent quite a bit of time on this one. They have the only concession to explore or mine on the whole island of Madagascar. They have attracted some of the best geological minds out there. The reason is that Mad. is one of the last places on earth that geologists have been unable fully explore because of politics. The people at the company are pretty sure of what they have and its alot. They sent a geologist over there from Vancouver, Ron Stokes, and I was able to read parts of his report to them. They have property where the natives are currently washing gold from the streams and chipping out sapphires and emeralds. One of their properties, Eximad, had a working emerald mine until a landslide in Jan 95 covered it up. Mr. Stokes noticed some outcroppings, quite a number of them according to his report, and suspected what was in them. He brought back one sample. It graded at .5 oz ton of gold. The company sent a geologist, Griff Lloyd, back over to Mad. yesterday to take samples along a suspected vein strike. They are also sending over 2 military types this week or next to link up with Mr. Lloyd to reconnoitre (sp?) on putting in roads and placing camp locations. The company has acquired 3 camps from the military that were used in the Balkans on the UN mission, approx value new 250K each. They are flying in a bunch of equipment on a Antonov 134 (russian cargo plane) sometime in the next 3 weeks. I'll know more of what is on that plane in the next few weeks. These guys seem to have all the $$$ they need and there are some deals pending that I can't talk about just yet. Suffice it too say that there is alot more going on here than meets the eye. That it is only trading at $2 range is amazing to me because I know companies at $4-$6 that all they have is a property with nothing other than hype to keep them there. Riosun has a plan and things are moving faster there than at any other mining company that I've seen except maybe ctq and their stock is now at $16. Is there some risk here? Absolutely. Is the potential returns here worth the risk? I think the answer is yes. Emeralds and Sapphires are rarer and valued more highly than diamonds. The properties they own already have known reserves of these stones. The geology leads Mr. Stokes to believe that there are massive gold reserves there just from what he could see n the surface. The sampling from Mr. Lloyd will help to confirm those suspicions. I'll have more on the geology on a later post. Let's suffice it to say that I believe in the management and staff and the geologists that this company is attracting. I've got a whack load of this stock and I'm looking for some spectacular results in the not too distant future. These are my thoughts not yours....Don
