Agreed, Frank. There will ALWAYS be a debate.

Good to see you on the T thread. Really don't have time to wallow thru the ATHM thread & Last Mile has gone to sleep. Neverthess, I still have some posting to do on that thread & a few others. Just been busy with a NY-based client -- which is good.

I do believe my DSL wishes will be met soon with the intro of these 3GDLCs. PacBell is saying probably w/i a year. Plus, I've confirmed the T1 across the canyon 'bout 1 mile road distance is fiber. We like fiber.

PacBell is telling me they can design a solution for my situation today, but the hardware is not available yet. Then the next day this comes across the wires: fibre.com,
Then yesterday this:
xdsl.com

So the technology is available. I think PacBell is just testing the products on its network & needs approval from SBC to purchase the equipt. Then, I understand deployment would require PacBell's tarif to be extended beyond the current 18,000 ft limit. I don't see this as a problem, but how long would it take?

TIA for commentary.
