You can not have a lie with out a subject or object to lie about. In Wateregate the lies and perjury centered around a bungled burglary. The burglary was illegal. Getting a Blow Job is not. The American people have seen this all along.

Believe me. 100 years from now a School teacher will not be able to explain to his students that Clinton was impeached for lying under oath without getting asked what he lied about. From this day forward for each and every generation to come and into the infinite future all High school students are going to say that "Bill Clinton got impeached for getting a Blow Job". You know the way kids are. It will be a standard joke and 1000 years from now Clintons name won't be one that any student has trouble remembering. He'll be right up there with George Washington and Abe Lincoln. Clinton will be remembered long after JFK is forgotten. Whether there will be outrage against him or the Congress that impeached him remains to be seen.

There has been too much demonizing from both parties but I don't think the democrats would have stooped so low as to go after Bush for the same issue. The democrats didn't have as much of a dislike for Bush as the conservatives have toward Clinton. For the conservatives to now say that "well they would have done it to us" is juvenile at best.

The Puala Jones case was settled out of court for political reasons.
The case was originally dismissed because Paula Jones could not show damages. Whether Clinton lied under oath would not have affected the decision of the Judge. The judge almost went as far as to say Jones damage claims were false.

It now appears that Ken Starr may have indeed conspired with the Jones attorneys to get Clinton. If true it is an outrage.

Your right after all, about the poles. I saw some on CNBC 70% believe he perjured and obstructed justice yet 66% believe he should stay in office. He still only has a 27% disapproval rating.

I for one still don't believe there was enough evidence to convict. I was able to watch most of the managers presentation. The defense made adequate arguments to support reasonable doubt.
