Death Penalty

What possible benefit to anyone is the calculated cruelty to the people that you propose? Perhaps you should examine the methods of penal torture that you have neglected. Devil's Island was good, the galleys were good, early American penitentiaries had cranks and counters and to be fed, the confinees had to turn the crank a prescribed number of times. Even life at hard labor was harder than the silly boredom that you prescribe. One neat note was the exclusion of any religious reading material. Prisoners or residents of cheap hotels have always enjoyed the bible or other religious writings. Should such punishments be adopted there would be a boom in interest in transcendental and buddhist meditation, memory systems, etc.
If we are going to imprison people for punishment, we need to develop some activities that benefit society in which they can participate.
I think we need organ donors, experimental subjects, crash dummies, republican candidates for office, and many other useful things.
