I had (have) a similar problem with RR in Tampa Bay area. SI access times slowly deteriorated to average more than 20 seconds per message. This was late at night and early in the morning, very off-peak. When we complained they told my wife that our line had a few errors on it and that by clearing those we'd probably be ok.

My network experience says that's crapolla, that clearing an error count solves nothing. However, performance has gotten significantly better recently. Most SI messages are 1-2 seconds now, though some still go to the 10 second level.

I don't know what they did, but I'll be complaining more frequently if my performance deteriorates again.

Does anyone know of a good tool to measure performance of a session so that I can pinpoint whether the problems I have are RR, the net or SI?
