Here was the size of the OEM market for 1998...

I'm guessing 3dfx was less than 1% of this market. Most of the boards were sold at retail as add-ins. Even 5% of this market would yield tremendous revenues in 1999. 3dfx doesn't need to be #1, they just need to be a player.
I would appear that 3dfx is gathering a bunch of webmasters at their STB facilities on Feb. 22, but they will be restrained from releasing any information until after the visit. Hmmm...what are they trying to hide? I don't think it takes a genius to connect the dots. Maybe this will be a good quarter after all.
From voodooextreme: Since I couldn't make it, next Wednesday our other news guy, Dave "Octane" Morrison will be heading down to Texas to take a look-see at the Voodoo3 2000 and 3000 (along with a billion other web p1mps). On the 22nd, Dave will slap up a detailed preview of what he had a chance to see, as well as a chance for you to win a few goodies. Check it:
There will be a random drawing on February 24th at 12:00 PM PST, 48 hours after the beginning of the contest, and 48 hours after the embargo has been lifted. Each web site will have a first, second, and third place winner.
