PC Server Due With Internal Fibre Storage From InternetWeek. Here's a dedicated appliance kind of box. It uses embeded NT as the OS. Note where they talk about a stand-alone storage product. Steve PC Server Due With Internal Fibre Storage By MITCH WAGNER A small company plans next week to introduce a PC server that uses innovative hardware technology to provide high performance and reliability. The Stratas server from Quad Research uses dual, single-board computers running an embedded Windows NT kernel and on-board Fibre Channel storage. It's designed for serving Web pages, but can run any Windows NT application, including database and enterprise resource planning applications and corporate e-mail, according to Quad Research. [TEXT DELETED] A system running the Compaq Alpha chip set will be available in March. Quad Research also plans by early March to announce a stand-alone Fibre Channel storage product.
