Response from INVESTOR RELATIONS which may be of interest: Dear Stockholder, There were a few news events out last week that caused speculation regarding 3Com's quarter. One of our channel distributors pre-announced their quarter, whether this was due in part or at all to 3Com was not determined nor disclosed by Tech Data. They did disclose that 10% of their business is 3Com products, the rest being PCs, software, and other computer and networking products. One of our competitors made claims of gaining market share in their business but did not mention if they gained on a particular competitor. However, it was speculated that it may be a gain on 3Com. Actual published market share will be reported next month by Dell'Oro Group. As you can see this is news which may or may not effect the company, but has effected the stock. As a matter of company policy we do not provide monthly updates on the quarter, nor do we comment on rumor or speculation. Let me remind you, Q3 is seasonally slower than the other 3 quarters and has historically come in flat to down. Management provided guidance for the quarter at the time of our Q2 quarterly announcement. These management comments can be viewed in full on our web site - www.3com.com/inside/investor.
