PSI Technologies Selects Intelispan for VPN Services
SCOTTSDALE, Ariz.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 11, 1999--Officials of Intelispan Inc. (OTC BB:IVPN) announced Thursday that PSI Technologies, a division of Policy Studies Inc., has selected Intelispan as its provider of Virtual Private Network (VPN) services.
Intelispan's VPN solution, exSPANd, will deliver email, intranet, extranet and remote access via a VPN within a stringent security specification to all PSI sites and approximately 350 remote users.
''We selected Intelispan for its superior security architecture, technical expertise, flexibility and responsiveness to our needs,'' said Nancy Starling Ross, vice president. ''An unexpected surprise was the cost effectiveness of the Intelispan components. The simple, usage based structure allows for PSI to grow elegantly into a larger network footprint on a 'pay-as-you-go' basis. It makes it easier for budgeting purposes and gives us at PSI the 'just in time' bandwidth we need as we grow.''
Intelispan's VPN service, exSPANd, uses a private IP network that is separate from the Internet, and provides a solution superior to typical Internet VPN tunneling solutions. exSPANd can be used to create instant extranets, for supply chain management, process automation and remote access, as well as for the management of networked collaborative communities.
''PSI, like many of our customers, has extremely sensitive data that they prefer to keep off public networks like the Internet,'' said Ron Loback, executive vice president and chief operating officer. ''We are committed to providing our customers with a cost effective, ubiquitous service with leading edge security embedded into the network. This approach makes our network the first line of defense for our customers' sensitive data.''
''We were very impressed with Intelispan's responsiveness and ability to provision their service quickly, efficiently and with the least amount of disruption to our existing network,'' said Cathy Watterson, Evaluation Team lead and manager of Corporate Information Technology. ''It is important that this process go smoothly and Intelispan made sure that it did.''
Policy Studies Inc., established in 1984, provides high impact technical consulting and research, privatization services, and information technology solutions to governmental institutions including 48 states and the federal governments of the United States, Canada and Australia.
''Because our security specifications are quite high, we were not able to consider many other VPN providers,'' said Starling Ross. ''We are convinced that the technology platform of the Intelispan solution is superior to the competition today, and with enhancements such as two factor authentication, will remain a superior solution into the future.''
