The Media and TMSR - February WIRED - p144

Norman, as a happy TMSR shareholder I'd like to thank you for starting this newsgroup and sharing the kind of facts and background information a prospective investor needs and appreciates.

In case you haven't seen it yet, the article "Hard Drive" in the current issue of WIRED vividly describes the Simulated Auto Racing hobby/culture as growing like mad worldwide. "The parallel universe of auto racing simulation is about to collide with reality"

SimRacing is a participant sport that happens in realtime over the Internet. After purchasing the necessary peripheral equipment (Steering Wheel & foot pedals) from TMSR, anyone with access to a modern PC or Mac can race with the best of them!

The article mentions Thrustmaster as being the leading supplier of the most affordable, quality equipment in the world marketplace.

The speed of today's networks and modems is holding back widespread participation in SimRacing. Enter Texas Instrument's extraordinary new Data Signal Processing chip. Enter USRX and its x2 modems. Think Convergence here. Think NASACR getting into SimRacing. This Spring according to WIRED, "Sierra On-Line, in conjunction with NASCAR itself plan to launch the NASCAR Racing Online Series - NRO ... a pay-per-play network with dialup local access numbers and assured lines..." The article goes on to state that NASCAR is currently bringing in an "estimated $2 billion annually from TV rights, gate receipts and memorabilia".

Wouldn't you expect every ISP and cable company to be following SimRacing _very_ closely to see if this is something their customers would be willing to pay for like we do premium cable channels? They could even follow the lead of the DBS (Direct Broadcast Satellite) industry by bundling TMSR hardware with a monthly NASCAR online subscription...

SimRacing has become so popular, it has its own Usenet newsgroup: rec.autos.simulations

Other SimRacing links I am finding helpful to get a handle on the market for TSMR's products are:

Hopefully the above adds to our collective wisdom here. It helps us all when folks report in from time how their local retailers of TMSR's products are doing. Market reports from the field add meaningful perspective to whatever short term pronouncements from analysts' come our way...
