But before that, they acted just like the pcs that have now become commodities.

Mike, before big screens, when was that? <g>. Next thing you're gonna tell me is that phones used to have dials and cords <g>. The last innovation of the TV was remote control about 1980. And oh yeah, one comparison I do like is how many TVs do you have in your house. I now have only two, but 3 PCs. Me, the wife, and my 9 year old. My 5 year old still has to beg for computer time. We'll fix that when she turns 6. <g>

HWP has taken share from the other geeks in servers and workstations, so they are not hopeless.

I never said they were hopeless, just lagging. A great company that will be one of the bigs that dominates. But not a pure play, like DELL, GTW, and sort of CPQ.

I have noticed zero difference in speed between my 120 mhz with 16MB DRAM and my 333 mhz and 64MB DRAM.

I would challenge any one on this thread to back up this assertion. We'll see if there are any real lemmings out there <g>. Actually, if that 333 is a Cyrix, and that 120 is an INTC ????. Nahh, you should still notice.

And, once again, Gary, we are talking price. I would like Dell's prospects in the 20s. In the triple digits, it is dead meat.

How many times have you said this? Maybe the third times the charm <g>.

Gary
