HiTech, Hey, I've got an idea...Let's talk about religion next!!!! :-) My answer to your question is this: There is no reason. If you constrict yourself to voting along party lines rather than voting for individuals that align with your beliefs it further enables the partisan politicking. I like the idea of hobbling the government and therefore to disrupt the power bases, I like the vote against the incumbent tactic. Sorry for going OT earlier, JXM
