Okay, I'm gonna clamber on the soapbox for just a sec.
Yall know what Divx is? It's a digital disk format for movies. It'll only play on a Divx-ready machine. The key feature of these machines is that they are phone-linked to a central account. After two free days, the machine charges you every time you play the movie.
It's pay-per-view - for life.
(Don't confuse it with DVD - you buy that and you own it, and can play it on a friend's machine.
Who are the biggest boosters of Divx? Disney and Lucasfilm.
Bastards.
That alone is enough to keep me in analog tapes. Helen can play those eighty times - and all I paid was $5 for a bootleg tape.
Bastards.
