Venture to Increase and Accelerate Traffic to Perfumania.com

Perfumania, Inc. (NASDAQ: PRFM), the nation's largest perfumery chain, today announced an agreement with AltaVista, the leading search engine on the Internet and the Modern Bride Company, to promote the marketing of the perfume retailer's new Internet store, Perfumania.com.

Ilia Lekach, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Perfumania, said, "We decided to increase our Internet presence with the marketing campaign on AltaVista because it's the leading search service on the Internet and has the support of leaders in the industry, including Microsoft. At the same time, ModernBride.com ads to perfumania.com the ability of reaching a large and continuously changing audience of women online."

Commenting on the announcement, Perry Allison, Director of Advertising of AltaVista, said, "We're delighted to establish a relationship with Perfumania as they begin implementing their strategy to become the global fragrance retailer. Given Perfumania's extensive experience as a fragrance and cosmetics retail marketer, we are confident that this program will help them with a quick start globally."

Perfumania recently announced the opening of its Internet store. The Company has achieved the leading discount fragrance position in the United States that will be used for developing international franchised fragrance stores and international Internet affiliates. Perfumania.com envisions International Internet affiliates and franchisees selling fragrances in their local markets in local currency, at local prices and with local product delivery, making Perfumania, Inc. a true global fragrance retailer.

Perfumania also said that the preliminary results of its web site sales have been successful and above expectations, and the Company said that it expects that sales will increase dramatically as the store is advertised on Internet portals and search engines.
