I will be in Lahore on 20th and will be part of the welcoming team, it is probable that Nawaz will accompany him back to Delhi on the way meeting his village across the border.. We Pakistani's plan to give Mr Atal Bihari Vajpayee a welcome that he will remember all is his life, that is what our Prime Minister has announced.. we in Pakistan are pretty excited and consider this as a breakthrough, I think after PM Rajiv and his grand father Pandit Jawharlal Nehru, this will one of those rare ocassions that Pakistan will play host to Indian PM.. Lahore will be decorated like a 'bride' and lit for the ocassion.. I hope it goes very well indeed..
Although we have our share of bigots who like this trip to fail, we will free ourselves from the chains of prejuidice and hatred, the cry from the heart is let us fight against our poverty and hunger, together we can do it.. we shall overcome, for me it is like dream coming true, we neighbours have to be friends just to survive and live with dignity amongst cmity of nations,, I toast to this firendship of our PM and yours.. and expect it to trickle down to the entire nation.. |
