Keynes was a towering genius and original thinker - but that was then and this is now. Do you suppose that Keynes would have come up with the same prescription had be somehow been reborn in Maggie's or Ronnie's time, indeed he may have out-maggied Maggie! BTW Ronnie was a huge government spender - just that he didn't think that military spending was government spending at all - his delusion of course. A huge legacy of debt - ah yes, the US won the cold war, by spending Russia into the ground. Maybe we'll still rue that day?

These things can't be proved - could Ali have beaten Jack Johnson - we'll never know, Jones or Nicklaus, Keynes and his times, and other times?
