No, I'm not jealous of Clinton at all. He is the epitome of everything I despise. I'm not jealous of you either. This country probably would have been better served had you both just gone to Canada in the first place and stayed there.

Rather than be drafted into the Army or Marine Corps, I enlisted in the Air Force. I served my Southeast Asian duty at Ben Hoa' Airbase in the Republic of South Viet-Nam and a second tour at Ne Kam Phenom in Thailand. During those two tours I learned to despise the incompetence and shit for brains compromising of another Democratic president. LBJ was a worthy predecessor to Clinton. He was more than willing to waste the lives of American soldiers in order to further his political agenda but was too chickenshit to let us do anything decisive. He was another C n C that was mysteriously determined to accommodate the whims of the People's Republic of China and the (then) USSR.

What I learned during my first four year stint was enough to show me that, for all of our faults, the U.S. really was the good guys. I also understood that we would bear the brunt of defending the rest of the world from the communist megaliths or from being beset by any number of two-bit despots. Because of this I made the Air Force my career for 28 years as a munitions and demolitions specialist (originally as a 461X0, 12 years as a 463X0, and finally as a 464x0), including more than 20 years overseas, in 11 different countries. I was present for some amazing events during that time span, including being in Berlin to witness the fall of the wall in 1989, and in Turkey in 1991 as part of the mightiest military coalition in history. On the whole,it was a life that I wouldn't have missed for anything. Unfortunately I was also present to witness the debacle in Somalia. The last two years of my career were served under the Clinton administration. That was a low that I'd never experienced even with the fall of Saigon, after the waste of 55,000 American soldiers. From Bubba's purge of the higher ranks of experienced leadership, to his attempt to turn the military into one big sexual preference experiment, to his abuse of the forces under his command by turning them into international traffic cops and social workers without the authorization to employ meaningful force, even in their own defense. The change in policy in Somalia, following Clinton's assuming power, was dramatic. The whole thing reeked of the politics of appeasement and mismanagement that I hadn't experienced since Viet-Nam and the Johnson years.

Say what you will, the bastard in the White House is a disgrace to his office and a danger to the security of our nation.

P.S.
As a side note, I made an oath to myself in 1969 that I would live to piss on the graves of LBJ and his Secretary of Defense John McNamara. I waited until I retired in 1995 to travel to Johnson City, Texas to fulfill the first part of that vow. I'm still waiting for McNamara to become worm food. As of now, I'm adding a trip to Arkansas to my list.
