Randy... I worked in enterprise software (Oracle, Peoplesoft, Sap, I2 etc) for a long time in R&D and more recently in strategic planning. I also worked on the Dell supply chain which is why I am always arguing with people here about that. But anyway I have been right more than wrong in enterprise software since I was kind of an insider and was even offered a job as an analyst once. Last year a lot of people lost money in enterprise software which was a red hot sector up until July - and then things completely fell apart. Cramer predicted this downturn in April in his newsletter and pointed out some concerns with y2k etc. I paid no attention and it turned out he was right. I only mention it because I follow all the software analysts and Cramer was way ahead of the pack on that critical call since it was an entire sector thing. In my case I didnt trade on his advice because I just never listen to anybody! But before that, like you I thought he was kind of a dufus.

I dont follow Rational, btw.... I am in ERP software such as Siebel, I2, etc.

BTW anybody: I want to buy an amazon t-shirt and maybe some bookmarks... dont they have those anymore? I cant find them.
