RE: Microsoft Realtime Keynote Address Allen:
My rumor (post #464) "Microsoft VP to Keynote Embedded Systems Conference in March?" has been partially verified. They're sending a General Manager instead of a VP.
I just received my Embedded Systems Programming Conference-East schedule in the mail for March 10-12 at Hynes Convention Center, Boston, MA.
The Keynote Address: Harel Kodesh, General Manager, Consumer Appliances Group, Microsoft will keynote- "Win32, The New Paradigm for Embedded System Development"
"Recent developments in operating system technology promise to revolutionize the embedded marketplace. WIN-32 based operating systems are now available which provide many of the benefits of traditional proprietary embedded operating systems, such as prioritized interrupt scheduling, deterministic response times, and small memory footprints; but with all the benefits of a true WIN-32 O/S. Designers are already beginning to leverage relatively low-cost, industry standard development tools such as Visual C++ to create their embedded applications and take advantage of preexisting software modules based on the WIN32 standard. These developments will enable dramatic improvements in product usability, time to market, development and support costs.
At Microsoft, Harel Kodesh oversees the development and marketing of the corporation's non-PC devices, from wireless communicators to multimedia-capable players. Most recently, Mr. Kodesh headed the Personal Electronics Group and prior to that....etc etc.
Allen if you are in Boston on Monday, March 10th, 6pm let me know and I'll meet you for the keynote. It will be interesting to see what happens from here on out.
Cheers, Dave |
