Do you think if we could revisit our childhood, we would discover that our cartoons and kiddie shows were filled with decadent symbolism and perverse propaganda? What was Mickey's relationship with Minnie REALLY? Did she ever get jealous of his friendship with Goofy? After all, he wore that weird hat. Why was Unca Scrooge a bachelor? Did you ever notice that the hippos in Dance of the Hours don't have on underwear???? How about the latent sadomasochistic relationship between the Roadrunner and Wily Coyote? And that sick manipulative Tweetie Bird?
If a good psychiatrist (or just a strange one) started analyzing the cartoon characters of old, I bet they would find all kinds of neuroses and psychoses. ISn't that what good drama (and I suppose humor) is based on? "Normal" people are so boring.
