In Tom's most recent articles (Jan 18, 1998) he talks about overclocking the most recent chips. You can pick up the Celeron 300's with 128L2 for $139. My supplier says he only has 20 left and that these will be gone within a month. After there gone he may not be able to get any more.

Think about this. For $139 you can overclock the 300 to a 450. With the fast L2 cache on the 300 you see almost no difference in performance between the real PII 450 and the overclocked 300A other than in the most advanced 3D games. The only big difference is that a PII 450 will set you back around $950.

Throw the 300A ($139) on a BH6 motherboard ($170) and overclock. Add a speedstar 8-meg AGP video card ($79), 64Mgs PC-100 ram ($150), 4.5G HD ($200) and you have a kick ass system for $700.

Best Regards
KEITH
