I totally agree with you...my only guess is they wanted to release earnings before the national TV interview on FOX so the CEO would be at liberty to discuss the latest figures in proclaiming a "turnaround story".... I definitely think it ended up hurting the short-term stock price. If they had issued some type of e-commerce related press release touting their Valentines products this week and then come with earnings next week the stock would likely be 50% higher than it is today. In my opinion at least...but I think $2ish is a great buying op... Jimbo.
