Message 7784561 That's a pretty typical Datek customers attitude. They used to be able to get whatever to short, now I've borrowed names at Waterhouse that Datek has NS, or NM. I am definitely seeking a new account. I almost went with MB or JPR but then both had problems with their trouble free execution systems. Short availability is questionable at both. It may well be that it's a systemic problem with all the new people jumping in to online and daytrading, and we'll just have to bear with the systems growing pains. I am leaning toward Yamner tonight. They claim to work your order to offset their higher commissions, and steve goldman said they'll actually try to locate shares to short if they're not under their nose. If they had been able to get me EAST today it would have paid a whole lot of commissions. Barb
