Tim, all. Been doing the Willie Nelson "On The Road Again" thing for a few days with a laptop that went South--no internet for moi. Yikes is that a bummer! Particularly with Mr. A and everybody lighting fuses and stepping away smartly. No matter: congrats to all on the launch squad.
My unrequested departure from SI did provide an opportunity to look at the market in retrospect. Evidently I missed an elevator free fall followed by a "what me worry" irrational exuberance blast off. Alan G. must be fretting again.
Well yours truly acts as unofficial stock advisor to widows, orphans, and the disenfranchised of the world--including my wife's stock club. The assembled multitudes have been asking me what to buy and my answer has been the same for a number of months now: not a frigging thing. Me smelling very frothy market, me liking cash, me thinking EBAY and its bretheren are headed for a fall, blah, blah, blah. But let's assume you're just dying to pull the trigger and can't stand to stuff that old 401K with ugly greenbacks. What's a nutty investor to do?
O.K., kids, I'm thinking of the great unwashed masses: those stocks that for whatever reason have sat this torrid dance out, and you just know that means, as one example, GSTRF. Launches are risky, Iridium's off to a bit of a slow start, these damned birds go on the fritz from time to time, Bernie's a traitor for selling advanced soldering techniques to the Red Chinese Commie pinkoes--well I need hardly go on. I'm thinking of tip-toeing in for another wee spoonful or two of G* and am damned tempted to take a swipe at *OT* WIND as well. Call me zany but I ain't got the cajones for YHOO, and the G* business plan looks better and better everyday. Cheap, bent pipe, and maybe with some snazzier MSM30XX chips in the handsets for getting an internet fix wherever you may be--and the hell with my &*%)#$& Notebook! Thoughts for a Winter's eve.
