Are these K6-III and K-VII supposed be high end chips to compete with Pentium III? Maybe someone can let me know.

I will say one thing though---AMD will NOT be able to compete with INTEL on any high end CPUs, now or in the foreseable future. Those buying expensive computers will insist on INTEL (Who does DELL only sell INTEL). This is why I feel INTEL should be raising prices for the Pentium III (sorry I have no idea how the various CPUs are priced at the present time). Price cuts on the fast PIIs don't need to be very rapid. Only the Celerons require price cuts which they are doing.
I think Intel has realized what a franchise name they have.
JMHO.
