A plea for content---
Ladies and Gentlemen,
I joined SI in hopes of learning something new about stocks I'm interested in. I have found real content on some SI stock threads. So far, on the two active ACTV threads, I've found very little that matters, even though I've scanned many, many messages. It's a little less juvenile than the ACTV Yahoo thread I left...but not much.
The "discussion" has been essentially content-free, consisting mostly of the equivalent of: It's going up...it's not going up... I hope it's going up...I hope it's not going down...the price is now___ ...I just bought some...I may buy some...we are going to get rich now--in a month--in a year--sooner or later...and a seemingly endless discussion of the need (or lack thereof) for a 2nd (content-free) thread.
Fun is fun, and a little entertainment on the thread is ok, but too much of what's appeared here is more appropriate for a private message or for the (100% content-free) "Welcome to Silicon Investor" thread.
If you have some real information about ACTV or its market, I'm *really* interested in hearing it, as I'm sure many are. Otherwise, I can't quite see why you bother to post and it's tiresome scanning through the "cute" remarks looking for the all-too-rare nugget.
(For the record, I saw demos of ACTV technology several years ago, met some of the people, visited their offices for a day, liked what I saw, and began to follow the company. I've accumulated thousands of shares, below 2. Along with the rest of you, I'm pleased with the progress so far and hopeful for the future.)
I've been lurking, not posting, because I have no significant information to add.
Does anyone?
(I apologize for a first post that's so negative.) |
