New Intel die sizes at sandpile.org All the following are 0.25µ technology: Dixon: 180 mm^2 Mendocino: 154 Celeron: 118 Original Pentium II: 131 Pentium III: ? By comparison AMD die sizes are: K6-2: 79-81 mm^2 K6-3: 117 K7: 184 (?) Most estimates for the Dixon were too low, because people didn't know the extent of the die shrink on the Pentium II, which went from 131 to 118 mm^2. Therefore the cache transistors on the Mendocino took an extra 36 mm^2, and going from 128K to 256K increased the size another 26 mm^2, which is reasonable.
