With near certainty, JGoren, I'd say you have a local line issue. I have 56k access but rarely connect at greater than 26.6. US West admits it's limited by their system. ...Tim

Side note: I switched from AOL to Prodigy Internet after it was taking an average of 80 to 100 dial-up attempts to connect to AOL (at least I could use a 20 attempt autodialer). I have never, ever, gotten a busy signal or "can not connect" from Prodigy. Still have "bring your own access" with AOL to tcp/ip straight in. FWIW.
