Corel adopts poison pill By JILL VARDY The Financial Post .....Mr. Cowpland said he has not recently spoken to anyone from Adobe. But Corel sources say he met with Adobe officials as recently as last September. The two companies have collaborated before on such issues as software standards for the graphics industry. The Corel CEO said yesterday he doubts the rumours Adobe wants to buy Corel. "I personally don't think so because we've got two separate businesses both of which are kind of independent. It would not be a simple thing for any one company to handle," he said. "At the same time the share price is way up compared to what it was. I think we were very vulnerable when the share price was in the dollar range but we've come a long way since then." canoe.ca
