In following the Genesis of those remarks, I believe there is already a religious confusion (not surprisingly).
And it serves as a grand example to show, that all the babble that these fabulous preachers spout is nothing else but absolute rubbish. As history seems to show that one of the main protagonists had long been gone, and his cronies were, I am sure, adding bits and pieces of their own inspiration, to the so called gospels.
Never mind that there were several languages involved, and to boot, they had no word processors of any kind, so as indicated it was all "word of mouth"... Then we have to deal with "translations", (and accents).
As we can attest in these illustrious boards, misunderstanding can take place in the SAME language... (you know, the old story about "misspelling"). Then if we add Spanish to the mix, we really get in deep waters, about "transmitting messages".... Now think about it... Aramic, Greek, Hebrew, Latin, etc, etc, etc.... not to mention that preachers, and zealot preachers at that, can really "color" things a bit, (just ask any rabid politician). Preferably from the Christian coalition. <g>
Finally we input a couple of minor ingredients such as power and money, (not to mention sex and fear....) Ah, what mixture we end up with!
A true classic of thrill and horror. I have always wondered why the Bible has never been nominated for a Noble Prize, or an Oscar.
Well I guess there is no category for "Bed Time Stories", besides, all the writers and heirs are long gone, who would they give the prize money to?..... The poor ?
Now that I think about it.... Did Charlton Heston won an Oscar for one of his epic performances ? Moses or something like that?... (I don't remember).
Ever heard the expression: "It's all GREEK to me?" now I know where it comes from...
Imagine what the real events were...
Worse, imagine that for at least 2000 years humans have been torturing, warring, executing, burning, you name it.... simply because they can not agree on what a long gone and dead prophet could have said, if it was blue or brown....
And now we have one of the most vociferous apostles of the absurd telling us that a damned purple TV toy is sending coded messages so children may become gay.....
Thanks for the link, it has made my day and indeed continues to assure me that man, as a race, is truly idiotic. No question in my mind, the religious crowd is the missing link that proves that we come from the apes. (apologies to the monkeys in case I am wrong).
p.s. However, the bulletin board market is further proof that Darwin was right all along. |
