Shorters, in general are smarter than most of the investing world, for it is much harder to make money on the short side in a bull market like this one

Ron: I strongly agree with you assessment. When a company preannounces an earnings short-fall for the upcoming quarter, a short-term short is very often an excellent trade, and so it was this time. But as all shorts (who are long-time) survivors know, the amount of money and the time period in which to make that money is "short". As such, these savvy players will exit post haste from IOM within the next six weeks.
