John: This depends on the special situation, if the MM had accumulated a lot of shares prior to that big buy, it will let it go at a relatively low peremium. When you get the combination of these two events, (buy's do not cause the stock's aks to rise and sell cause the bid to drop) that usually means that the stock in question might be under distribution,a nd this is a warning signal.
