Mark , Re. unrealistic . From your previous posts I recall that your level of technical knowledge is good , so I am sure you are aware that it is not only the cache but the fact that its hooked up to a 200mhz access bus between cpu and cache . This seems to be enough of a boost in servers to warrant the extra cost for larger cache . For normal desktop use however as you point out ,it is a costly way of purchasing L2 cache . If for normal desktop/notebook operation it cannot demonstrate far superior speed ,then why would an enlightened consumer buy it ? Good marketing / brainwashing perhaps regards
